Vicarious Visions, based in Albany, New York, has been working with Blizzard since last year on the Diablo franchise, including a planned remake of Diablo II, people familiar with the plans said. The team has been working on the game for some time prior to the announcement at BlizzCon online. The game is being developed by remaster specialists Vicarious Visions which have since been merged with Blizzard in Irvine. Development Backgroundĭiablo 2 Resurrected was announced at the special online-only Blizzcon event which replaced BlizzCon 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions. Diablo 2 Resurrected will be released on 23 September 2021.
